Fragrance Beyond Borders is based on the simple fact that love can transcend the barriers created by politics, religion, race, geography or history. The main characters of the novel believe that while genuine expression of love has a powerful positive effect on our mind, absence of love has a devastating impact on the way we think and act. Our underestimation of the power of love has created miseries and despair within and surrounding us and has made our life unnecessarily stressful. When cultivated positively, the all-pervading power of love can provide solutions to most of the problems which confront us in this complex and often tense world. This is equally true for individuals, societies as well as countries. The power of love can be utilized through simple and natural gestures in our day-to-day dealings. The subtle influence which the power of love exerts on our approaches has often been underestimated and thus underutilized. In the backdrop of India-Pakistan relations, Fragrance Beyond Borders has tried to demonstrate how love can play a vital role in bringing forward the essence of goodness which is latent in every individual. It also describes how a few committed individuals convincingly and effectively utilized the potential of love in bringing significant changes in the outlook and approaches by simple and normal actions.
