This book has been provoked by recent tendencies in political changes in India and by current controversies relative to the present working and future prospects of our system of parliamentary democracy. Its object is to elucidate or to re-state the conditions essential to the main tenance of parliamentary democracy. On the contrary, that the future of democracy throughout the world depends in large measure upon the preservation and improvement of the political changes in Indian Government. Moreover, our long and successful application of democratic methods suggests that an analysis of the political changes in India is most likely to bring out the essentials of parliamentary democracy. The focus of this book is on parliamentary democracy and political changes in India. This book describes how the parliamentary form of democracy in India is functioning. The various ills we are witnessing in this country have originated or escalated for the reason that the parliamentary form of democracy supports their growth.
