Manual of Freshwater Algae of Tamil Nadu

This book contains a general account on the structure, morphology, classification and detailed taxonomic of fresh water micro algae from Tamil Nadu. Literature survey is included in the manual. This manual on freshwater algae of Tamil Nadu has been prepared by Dr. N. Anand, Coordinator of All India Coordinated Projection Taxonomy (AICOPTAX) on algae. Dr. G. Mahendra Perumal Student of Prof. N. Anand also associated in this project. Algae were collected in different freshwater ecosystems throughout Tamil Nadu and about 115 genera comprise 554 color photomicrographs of different species. This manual will be of immense use to all the scientists/teachers/research students interested in identifying the micro algae in various ecosystems. Such an effort can only be expected from persons like Prof. N. Anand and Dr. G. Mahendra Perumal for these commendable sincere efforts.
