This compendium of twenty-four papers analyses the role of Christianity in bringing about socio-cultural change in Northeast India. ABOUT THE AUTHOR T.B. Subba

Dr. T.B.Subba (b. 1957) is at present Professor & Head of the Department of Anthropology, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. Apart from this responsibility he is also the Editor of North-Easter Hill University Publications and Core Group Member of Regional Centre for National Afforestation and Eco-Department under the Ministry of Environment and forests, Government of India. Professor Subba was a gold medallist in M.A. , was awarded CISRS and UGC Junior Research Fellowships, and was the winner of Homi Bhabha Fellowship during 1992-94. Professor Subba has published more than six books and 40 research papers in various journals and edited volumes. Some of his publications have been widely cited and discussed in various newspapers. He is a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Human Ecology and NEHU Journal of Social Science and Humanities.
