It is followed by ancestry, early career of Vikramaditya and his era. Historicity and comparative study of Vikramaditya has been discussed. Administration, religious, social economic condition of the time of Vikramaditya have been dealt with along with art and architecture, education, literature and sciences of his time. His era has been rightly called as the golden age.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR K.C. Jain
Kailash Chand Jain, born on April 21, 1930 in Maroth of Nagaur Distt., Rajasthan, completed his graduation with a scholarship from Rajasthan University in the year 1951 and his post graduation in 1953. He attained a Doctorate (Ph. D) in 1956 and D.Lt. in 1963. He worked in Government Maharaja College, Jaipur (1955-1963) and later served at Govt. College in Ajmer, Kishangarh and Sirohi. Jain has been associated with Institute of Indian History and Culture, School of Ancient Studies and Research as Professor during 1979-80 and also got the senior fellowship of the Indian Council of Historical Research (1990-93).He was also an honourary member of several academic institutions like International conference of Oriental Studies, Delhi; All India Oriental Conference; Indian History Congress; Institute of Historical Studies; Indian Numismatic Society; Epigraphical Soceity; Rajasthan History Congress; and Madhya Pradesh History Congress.

P.C. Jain obtained his Master's degree in economics, History and Political Science from Agra University, and Ph.D. on the History of the Hindu Society in Pre-mutiny nineteenth century. He is a versatile genius and widely-read scholar. He is head of the Department of History in a P.G. College of the Rohilkhand University. Dr. Jain has contributed many articles to reputed journals. He has attended various state and national conferences on social sciences. He is widely travelled and has minutely studied the life and manners of the people of different places from a sociological as well as historical point of view. At present he is engaged in rewriting the regional and social history of the present state of Uttar Pradesh.
