ABOUT THE AUTHOR H C Saxena
Dr. H C Saxena obtained his M.Sc. degree in Poultry Nutrition and Ph.D. degree in the field of Animal Science from he Washington Sate University, U.S.A. in 1964. After spending 15 years in research and teaching both in India and U.S.A., Dr. Saxena was selected to join Hindustan Level Limited, an Unilever group company, in 1964 where he worked till 1967 as Product Group Manager, Animal Feeds Group. For next 10 and half years, dr. saxena was in the Middle east where he managed very large livestock projects at Kuwait and at Jeddah. He held top management positions at Kuwait Dairy Company (KDC), Kuwait United Poultry Co. (KUPCO) and Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He returned to India in 1986 and started his own Consultancy Office "Dr. Saxena & Associates" and "Agri-tech Associates" of which he is President and Chief Executive. This company deals with Quality Control of Animal Feed. Consultancy on Poultry, dairy & Sheep Projects and advice on Management of Poultry and Livestock Projects in India and Abroad. During the last four years, Dr. Saxena has been selected to work with the World Bank as Consultant in Nigeria, Ghana and Mauritania where he has successfully completed 4 major poultry projects. He has successfully developed poultry feeds without Animal proteins and several types of Vitamin Trace Mineral Mixtures which result in maximum production. He has also developed a process fro making bye pass protein fro use in Cattle Feeds. Dr. Saxena is elected member of several professional associations and served on many Committees in India and Abroad. He received several scholarships and award in recognition of his contribution to the Livestock Feed Industry in India. He received the First CLFMA Industry Service Award in honour of his contributions to Development of Livestock Feeds Industry in India. He was awarded the First "The Intervet national Poultry Award" 1995 for his original, pioneering research work carried out between 1993-95. Hehas attended many International Congress in which he has chaired sessions on poultry, over 170 scientific papers and popular articles in his field of excellence. He has published a book entitled "Poultry Production in Hot Climatic Zones" in joint authorship with Professor E.H. Ketalaars of Holland. This is his second book, intended for poultry farmers, field workers, Veterinarians and Administrators involved in area of Poultry Production. Recently Production, recently he has also written a book entitled "Broiler Industry in the New Millennium" a handbook for Broiler Farmers.
