The present volume attmpts to develop an Islamic model of the modern corporation that would be free of riba and of other infractions of Islamic principles from which the current forms of business organization suffer. The author hopes that this Islamized corporation will have the flexibility of the modern corporation and would thus be at once Islamically sound of contemporary relevance.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee
Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Shari'ah and Law, International Islamic University, Islamabad. He obtained his law degree (L.L.B.) From Punjab University in 1969. In 1983, he was awarded a gold medal for his performance in the L.L.M (Shari'ah) at the International Islamic University. In 1987, he obtained the LLM. degree from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, USA. His published works include Theories of Islamic Law, The Concept of Riba and Islamic Banking and General Principles of Criminal Law. He has also published several research articles on Islamic law and has also tranlated into English lbn Rushd's well known book Bidayat al-Mujtahid.
