The present study is intended to measure the impact of globalization on industrial relations. The very word globalization which according to my opinion gained much more importance after the collapse of socialistic block. The unipolar world under the leadership of U.S.A. has prompted our government to go for its New Economic Policy. The present study is concentrated within the Dooars region of West Bengal. This study is also intended to recommend some suggestive measures if any, for establishing harmonious industrial relationship in the tea industries for its overall growth and development.
The whole study is divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 is introductory in nature. Chapter 2 of this study deals with history and growth of tea industry in West Bengal with special reference to Dooars and Terai Regions. Similarly Chapter 3 deals with the evaluation of Trade Union Movement in the tea industry of West Bengal with special reference to its Dooars and Terai regions. These two chapters will help to understand the background of the Dooars and Terai tea gradens and will therefore provide proper foundation for proceeding with the main issues of tea industry in the coming chapters.
