The rapid changes and development in all walks of mankind gave the birth to the disequilibrium in the Environment. Scientific discoveries and developments are degrading the health of ecosystem. Since the beginning of the human civilization, mankind has lived in a competitive relationship with nature. His relentless, pursuits of progress, comfort and security has resulted in increased stress on the environment. Human tendency to exert a negative influence on ecology has resulted in to rapid increase of green house gasses, large scale deforestation, loss of bio-diversity and Environmental Pollution. Its leading to ecological crisis and affecting the entire life and life support system existing on our planet Earth. There is a great need of Eco-friendly outgoing engagement of men with nature. An environmental study is multi-dimensional field; its ingredients are physical, biological, chemical, socio and psychological. Human existence could not be assumed without the balance between men and his environment. So, Environmental Education emerged as an independent field of study to make the people aware about the issues, concerns and problems related with the environment. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Pardeep Kumar
Mr. Pardeep Kumar was born in 1978. He completed his graduation from University of Delhi, M.A. in English literature, M.Ed., M.Phil. (Education) from CCS University, Meerut and UGC-NET (Education) in 2003. He received gold medal and honor of “Vishishtha Yogyata” for M.Phil.2004. He has six year experience of teaching for B.Ed. and M.Ed. classes. At present he is working as Assisentent Professor in the Dept. of Education, Modern Institute of Technology, Dhalwala, Rishikesh. He is also working as a Counselor & faculty of IGNOU B.Ed., at Study Center 3711(P).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Suresh Chandra Pachauri
Dr. Suresh Chandra Pachauri was born in 1947. He did his masters degree in Economics, Sociology and Hindi from Agra University and that in Education from RIE Ajmer (Rajasthan). He was awarded Ph.D. degree in Education from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Agra. He is working as Teacher Educator for the last 10 years, presently he is serving as Senior Lecturer in SGRR (PG) College, Dehradun. He is the chief editor of an international journal of Education and allied sciences, ISSN 0975-8380. He has credit of his three books, 10 research papers and articles published in Journals of national fame. He has presented more than two dozen papers in various national and international seminars, workshops and conferences in India. He is life member of different associations related to Teacher Education & is presently secretary of Council of Teacher Educators for the state of Uttrakhand. He is Program In-charge of B.Ed. IGNOU, at Study Centre-3732(P), Dehradun. He is also associated with many social organizations.
