The production of horticultural crops has assumed great importance in the north-eastern hill region of India in view of the diversified topography, agro-climatic conditions and fertile soil resources. Thus, a variety of fruits, flowers and vegetable crops can be raised throughout the year in some or other parts of the region. Both central and state governments also have formulated various schemes e.g., Technology Mission for Horticulture Development in NEH States realising the scope of horticulture in the region. In spite of this, by and large, horticultural crops are not developed to the desired extent owing to several reasons, chief among them is marketing. This book studies few of the commodities in which newer dimensions on marketing of horticultural crops could be viewed so that they could be replicated in similar areas and siuations in the region. The book contains seven Chapters coverings the various aspects of production and marketing of four commodities, viz. tomato, cabbage, passion fruit and anthurium flower.
