ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kaushal Kumar Sharma
Dr. Kaushal Kumar Sharma (b. 1960) has been teaching in Department of Geography, Kirorimal College, University of Delhi Since 1984. He is widely travelled geographer. His area of research focuses on Environmental Geo-Hazards, Rural Development and Agricultural Transformation in Himalaya. He is engaged in various States and Central Government research projects (DST, UGC). His articles have been published in various national interdisciplinary journals.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Suresh Kumar Bandooni
S.K. Bandooni received his M.A., M.Phil and Ph.D. Degree in Geography from Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics (University of Delhi). University of Delhi awarded him Gold Medal for securing first position in B.A. (Hons.) Geography examination. He is currently Reader in Geography in Shaheed Bhagat Singh (Eve.) College of University of Delhi. He has Specialization in Natural Resource Management, Himalayan Environment, and Economic Geography. He has received Junior and Senior Research Fellowships of UGC. He has to his credit 10 research papers and 20 articles published in different Books, Journals and Magazines. He has attended 20 seminars/workshops etc. in different parts of the country. He has widely traveled in different parts of Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh. He is an avid tekker. He has co-ordinated a Project in H.P. He is a Co-Chairperson of NAGI Commission on Mountain Ecosystem and Development. He is an expert member of Geography Committee in CSTT (Commission on Scientific and Technical Terminology), Ministery of Human Resource Development. He has edited seven books for CSTT. Currently he is also engaged with SCERT (State Council for Educational Research Training, Delhi) to write the books for secondary school.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Virender Singh Negi
Dr. V.S. Negi (b. 1969) has been teaching in Department of Geography, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi since 1996. He is active field researcher and mainly focuses on sensitive environment of Himalaya. To pursue his academic interests he launched Indian Geo Journal in 2004 to motivate young geographers. he is also editor of Mountain View of NAGI Commission on Mountain Ecosystem and Development. He is member of various academic and social organizations in India.
