In the last 20 years or so we have witnessed a constantly growing role of the mass media in reporting on terrorism, ethnic conflicts, religious controversies, warfare and the like from all over the world. Technology has changed not only the nature of modern warfare but also how the media covers warfare.
Technology has made the media an active and influential participant in armed conflict informing and influencing nation's public opinion. War begins in the minds of men and therefore the minds of men need to ne influenced through the mass media. The idea is simple-more and better information is essential to conflict prevention. Once people know more about each others, about the issue, they will understand each other and be ears inclined to conflict.
This book undertakes a comprehensive analysis and discussion of the role of media in war and terrorism. We believe that this volume based research articles will be helpful to the policy makers, media persons and general public.
