The book `Plant Genetic Engineering' is being complicated for all undergraduate and post-graduate students of different universities who are directly of indirectly involved in the field of molecular biology, genetics and biotechnology in pants. In this book more emphasis is given to the clarity, straight forwarded language and easy and clear illustrations. Most of illustrations have been taken from professional papers and standard books and journals. The problem is writing such a book is to emphasize the true complexity of the subject without making the book itself complex of hard to read and understand. The overall pedagogic strategy is to use a principles-oriented approach. Important concepts are introduced, and the relationships among these concepts are discussed.
It has been the main aim to offer logical, orderly sequence of presentation and to avoid awkward breaks in the continuity. Therefore, the material has been arranged so that the presentation can be individualized to suit the particular course objectives. It is an adequate text for all requirements in this area for most university students.
