Environment Conservation: Promises and Actions

The subject of Environment Conservation has increasingly become an issue of global concern. Since the UN Conference on Environment and Development, held in Rio de Janeiro, June 1992, lot of promises has been made both at global and national level. New policies have emerged and new laws have been enacted. Environment conservation calls for multi, level actions, the social and economic cost of finite natural resources has never been focused any time in the past as it is being done now. This publication has focused on some currently marked critical areas and has made an attempt to look at the promises and the actions taken there after both at global and national level.
