The global demand for energy is met mainly by fossil fuels. Their excessive and indiscriminate use, coupled with increasing demand for energy, will soon deplete their existing reserves. Therefore, it is extremely important to find alternative, environment-friendly, and ecologically sound sources of energy for meeting the present and future energy requirements. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Navindu Gupta
Dr. Navindu Gupta (born: 15-8-1962) has done B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) from the University of Delhi in 1981 and 1983. He has received Ph.D. degree for the work on 'Photolytic and Radiolytic Degradation of Organophosphorous Pesticides' in 1993 from the University of Delhi. He has worked as a Research Fellow in Shriram Institute for Industrial Research and associated with research in polymer sciences and instrumentation during 1983-86 and then joined Nuclear Research Laboratory (IARI), New Delhi in 1986. Presently, Dr Gupta is working as a Senior Scientist at the delivered scientific talks at various National and International forum including UK, Newzealand and Bostwana (South Africa). As a senior faculty member, he is conducting research in the areas of solid and liquid waste utilization in agriculture. He has guided three Ph.D. and two M.Sc. students and published more than 30 scientific papers and a book.

Sushil Kumar, holds B. Lib., M. Lib., and D. C. degrees. He has done M.A. in Political Science from Delhi University. With his vast teaching experience at his hand, he is deeply involved into writing of books and Papers ion various subjects.
