Family and community sciences are a multidimensional and multidirectional discipline encompassing wide spectrum of biological, social and behavioral sciences. The National Conference on Traditional and Contemporary Trends in Family and Community Studies, the proceedings of which are published here in the form of an edited book entitled Contemporary Approach in Family and Community Studies was organized by school for Home Sciences, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow, in November 2009. The participants in the Conference included leading academicians and scientists from all over the country who could speak on the subject of their choice, with firsthand knowledge and experience.
The aim of the Nation Conference was to coordinate and present available empirical data, family studies, nutrition and allied researches to discuss the programmes for achieving ways and means to improve the study of so wide at a theme by suggesting specific programmes, action plans and intervention programmes.
The book carries three parts. The first part is on perceptional approaches in human development, the second part is about contemporary approaches in analysis of human comfort and the third part focuses on social issues in analysis of human life. This publication will serve as very useful handy reference tool on contemporary approach in family and community studies.
