The book Environmental Science : The Botanical and Forestry Perspectives describes the present day scenario of atmosphere with special reference to the forest trees and plants in the Indian continent. The underlying procedures of different kind of pollutions and their effects on the atmosphere and vegetation have been elaborated with basic science exemplified with the physical results generated from the field data. The area of environmental science encompasses a huge spectrum of subjects, in this book, apart from the events happening due to pollutions in the recent time, the other important issues like environmental impact assessment, climate change, business and politics, combating climate change with genetically modified products etc. have been discussed. So far, only few books have focused the interactions between the forest trees and the environment. Some commonly practiced biochemical protocols have been documented, a rich glossary has been provided as the ready reference for the convenience of the students and researchers. With a serious effort to make the script as correct as possible, the book might be helpful as a text in the college and universities as well as assisting the researchers.
