Political Economy of Bodo Movement: A Human Development Perspective

In the backdrop of Bodo movement in Assam the present effort focuses a deeper look on the issue through the lens of human development. Identity as recognized by the proponents of new development paradigm plays a crucial role in human life however the broader outline of the same varies significantly over time and across situation. The author applies clear theoretical sense of development economics in his present assessment of progress of an ancient ethnic group living in Assam, but upholds the perception of common people to define and describe development.
