The present book has been specially written keeping in view the biology, ecology and economic importance of weeds present in Peninsular India. An understanding of the biology of weeds helps in better control with less expenses. This work is an outcome of years of visionary planning, sincere efforts and positive approach. It has been prepared as a text and refernece book for graduate and postgraduate students of agriculture and researchers of India and neighbouring nations. Information regarding folk medicinal claims was collected by interrogating tribals and elderly people of rural areas. I am deeply indebted to all of them for sharing their secret herbal knowledge.
