Dragon in the Air: Transformation of China’s Aviation Industry and Air Force

The work deals with the transformation of the aviation industry and air force of the People’s Republic of China over the years. It offers a comprehensive and multidimensional study that traces the changing character of the Chinese Air Force from the time of the nationalists. It has divided the PLAAF into three stages that culminated with its modernisation, lucidly examining the strong link between this factor and emergence of the country’s aviation industry. It analyses organisational reforms of the defence industry in the country. It pints to China’s increased defence spending and military capabilities resulting in its development of new aerial platforms, ballistic missiles and modern firepower as well as advancement sin reconnaissance and earl warning and air and missile defence.
