Socio Economic Development of Dalit in 21st Century

The main objective of this book is to describe about the Dalits that are subject to untouchability and other forms of discrimination despite these being declared unlawful. The growing consciousness among the Dalits for emancipation is sought to be met with brutal oppression and atrocities. The assertion by the Dalits has a democratic content reflecting the aspirations of the most oppressed sections of society. Recognizing the need for Dalits to make common cause with other liberation and human rights movements in and outside the country, conscious of the hurdles that caste-Hindu society and its tentacles in government media voluntary sector etc., which is likely to hurl at any serious movement that challenges the entrenched system of discrimination and exclusion of Dalits.
