The contributions in the volume are on the Christian liturgy, moral and canonical aspects, theological studies and formation including aspects of ministerial priesthood. Emphasising the need for study of scripture to flower into pastoral ministry, they discuss how the Church can become pastorally effective through the Gospel-culture encounter and inter-religious dialogue through by modern communication. They view the responsibility of the bishops and theologians in this regard. They emphasise the Salesian way of being apostles by tracing the salient features of the spirituality of Don Bosco. They argue that effectiveness in pastoral ministry is the result of competence and grace, and formation must take care of these two essential aspects.
