Inclusive Growth in India

Inclusive growth is a broad concept that incorporates different dimensions, processes, outcomes, promotion of equal opportunities, and contribution of members of society towards economic growth. The result of a national seminar on issues and challenges vis-a-vis inclusive growth in transitional society, the volume focuses on inclusive growth with reference to themes like poverty alleviation, improving nutritional status of rural women, making education accessible to the Scheduled Tribes and empowering the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The focus is particularly on the mentally retarded, the HIV- and AIDS-affected, and bettering the condition of the marginalised sections of the population, specifically women, the Dalits and elderly persons. Referring to governmental plans and reports and studies on the subject, they discuss financial inclusion for inclusive growth, the problem of systematic exclusion of groups and empowerment concerns.
