The present book entitled “An Analysis of Gender Budgeting in Haryana” is carried out to make an analysis of gender budgeting in Haryana state. Analysis of budget from a gender perspective is of a fairly recent origin. Men and women frequently have different priorities for budgetary policies and are affected differently by most of these policies due to the gender differentials in the constraints, options, incentives and needs.
Gender budgeting is a value-adding tool in the struggle for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equity. The prosperity and growth of a nation depends on the status and developments of its women as they, not only constitute nearly half of its population, but also influence the growth of the remaining half.
This book seeks to feel the gap and provides information on gender budgeting in Haryana state. Hopefully, it should prove a valuable reference book for researchers, teachers, administrators, planners, policy-makers and students of gender economics.
