ABOUT THE AUTHOR Simmi Jain

Simmi Jain was born on 29th December 1954 at Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) and is an outstanding Postgraduate in Chemistry form Science College, Gwalior. She was married to Shri Arun Jain on 14th June 1975 and was soon after engaged in mobilizing the women by making them aware of the impact of Emergency and thus generated in them new awakening of their socio-economic and political rights. She is a Chair person, Social Welfare Advisory Board, Delhi and Working President, All-India Argoha Vikas Trust (Mahila Wing). She believes that this Encyclopaedia of Indian Women through the Ages will be useful not only to women but also Social Scientists, Students , researchers and teacher in India and abroad.
