The volume examines collaboration among developing countries in health biotechnology. Presenting results from a large-scale project on health biotechnology collaboration in emerging economies and in lower income developing countries, it examines ways to enhance collaborations’ contributions towards scientific capacity, economic growth and health. Involving six research groups based in Egypt, India, Zambia, Brazil, Canada and China, it analyses collaboration between public sector institutions and of partnerships between firms in developing countries. It maps research as well as entrepreneurial collaborations in this respect. With in-depth bilateral case studies, it provides an overview of Chinese and Indian governmental interest in and support for sub-Saharan African collaboration.
