This book seeks to study the various aspects of ethnic violence in Assam, with special reference to the conflict between Garo and Rabha communities. It tries to understand the socio-economic challenges of household recovery in a conflict affected area in terms of occupation, education, access to services, community assets, local institutions and social networks.
It also studies the nature of NGO intervention in the riot affected area such as cash for work, livelihood support and shelter support programmes. The views of the households regarding the rehabilitation programme find place in the discussion as well.
