Horticulture has emerged as a major economic activity in India. India has emerged as one of the leading producer of horticultural crops in the world. The productivity in many of the horticultural crops is far below the world average. The cultivable area is decreasing at alarming rate in the country through industrialization and urbanization with lot of pressure on land and water. Under such situation, the only left option with the scientist is to enhance the productivity of horticultural crops through various precision farming techniques.
The concept of precision farming is new to the country and needs appropriate attention for efficient utilization of resources. The book “Precision Farming in Horticulture: Approaches and Strategies” contains thirteen chapters contributed by the experts in the field covering hi-tech horticulture, precision farming and crop specific technology for increasing productivity and quality.
