Pedagogy of Computer: Making Effective Learning Designs

The book is an effort to develop a better understanding of the role and use of computers in teaching and learning. It discusses the history of computer use in education. Examining theorists and theoretical approaches and using a model of pedagogical approaches as basis for developing effective learning design plans, it deals with four types of computer pedagogy: behaviourist, cognitivist, constructivist and connectivist. With illustrations, it discusses classification of models of computer use in teaching-learning process, role of computers in higher order thinking skills, and computer assisted laboratory experimentation and assessment. It delves into the changing role of teachers and learners with the advent of computers.
