This book seeks to examine India’s bilateral and regional economic relations with other countries. Taking a close look at South-South cooperation, it analyses important aspects of India’s Look East policy, with special reference to cultural influences, and geo-political realities.
Assessing the relevance of regional groupings, it traces the origin of ASEAN and its economic relations with India. It also discusses at length India’s economic relations with SAARC countries, APEC, Indian Ocean Rim Association, European Union, China, Australia, and Singapore. India’s regional trade agreements make part of the book as well.
