Mathematical Modelling of Agricultural Drainage Groundwater and Seepages

H.S. Chauhan is an eminent teacher and researcher having degrees B.Tech (Hons) Agri. Engg, M. Tech. Soil & Water Cons. Engg. From I.I.T. Kharagpur and PhD from Ohio State University U.S.A.  His academic career of about 30 years is as follow; Joined as Asst Professor Dept of Agri. Engg., working at different senior positions as Professor and Head Irrigation and Drainage Engineering (Agri. Engg.) and Dean college of Technology.  He started his work in the area of Subsurface drainage and Ground water, and lastly in the area of Microirrigation.  In these areas he has guided several Masters and PhD Thesis and published a good number of papers in international and national journals and in seminar proceedings.  As Chairman Irrigation Equipments Bureau of Indian Standards, he assisted in formulating standards for microirrigation.  Countries Visited: USA, through Rockefeller Fellowship for PhD work and next time attending 5th Microirrigation Congress at Orlando; visited Iraq as member of ICAR team of Land Reclamation and Drainage and Zambia in a personal visit to see Central pivot irrigation system application in sugarcane.  Recognition: was recipient of ICAR, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Award, ISAE Life Time Award and other institutional awards.  He was also recognized as Fellow National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Fellow Indian National Academy of Engineering, Fellow Indian Society of Agri. Engineers and Fellow Institution of Engineers (India).

Madhu Aggarwal has been teaching Hindi in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1987. She has successfully taught both heritage and on-heritage Hindi learners by developing simple Hindi learning materials. Madhu holds an undergraduate degree in Microbiology and masters degree in Computer Science. She has made promoting Hindi her life's work.
