This book is a fascinating visual record of the faraway western corner of India, obscure Kachchh, which is the last frontier of a fading way of life. Kachchh is a mystery land, not easy to comprehend. Its vast length and breadth cannot easily be covered, and it is greater in area than some states of India. The evocative photographs take the reader to its wide horizons and remote settlements, inhabited by people of diverse races and religions. It is a land that time had forgetten. The author shares images of this picturesque land and its diverse ecosystems, the dazzling Great Rann of Kachchh, quaint harbours and other antiquities. The text supplements information about its history, myths and people. This is the first such illustrated and informative book on this outlying region of India.
