A thorough descriptive and analytical study of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from its ancient period is presented in this book. Effects of different physical and human infrastructure, composition of students with respect to caste and sex, location and level of the schools on the performance of the organization and students of secondary and higher secondary educations are studied with due care. Apart from this, how far socio-economic factors affect the performance of the students have also been incorporated. The increasing trend towards private tutorial service for enhancing the performance of the students, especially in semi urban, urban and metropolitan areas, is a common feature in India. A comprehensive statistical analysis on the factors which induce for private tuitions and the effect of private tuitions on terminal examinations is presented in this book, which is a case study of Tripura, an Indian state. The raised questions in secondary data analysis are addressed or substantiated by primary data, collected by a systematic survey based on two sets of questionnaires on general information and socio-economic conditions of the students. On the basis of findings modest policy prescription is also found in this book.
