Grammar is the very foundation on which the edifice of any language is built. This dictionary has been designed to explain the grammatical terms. In compiling this dictionary, an attempt has been made to be selective, concerned more with making the dictionary generally useful than with making it all inclusive. The dictionary, therefore, can be used both as a supplementary text in literature course and a general reference book. A serious attempt has been made to lighten the semantic burden of entries by using plain language and concrete description wherever possible and by illustrating terms with examples. The entries are cross-referenced so that the reader can move easily from one term to a related term.
