India is passing through a phase of transition. Revolutionary change is visible in entire pattern of life. Old values have tumbled down and new are still in the state of flux. Social life is marred with unresolved tensions, conflicts and violence. Adult support for youth’s search for identity is lacking and guidelines for accepted behaviours are blurred and contradictory. Worship of false values and false heroes has become the order of the day. A double moral standard is the reality which is no healthy setting for our younger generation. This state of value crisis and uncertainty has led to high incidence of stress and weakening of moral and human values, which in turn is creating many serious conflicts, social and ethical. This is high time, when we should think about the ways and means to check this deterioration of moral and human values. Parents, teachers and students need to understand the effects of stress and home environment on development of moral judgement and values. The present book will help parents and the teachers in their efforts to enhance the development of moral judgement and values among girls.
