This is the first book that discusses the Ruth Prawer Jhabvala and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruniin a comparative framework. Jhabvala is Anglo Indian author whereas Divakaruni is an Indian American author. Both were fascinated by alien country and choose the relationships between native Indians/ English/ American as one of their themes. Jhabvala was awarded Booker Prize for Literature in 1975 and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni received several awards for literature too. The obvious differences in Jhabvala and Divakaruni’s manner and attitude to life or writing, however, noticeable they may be do not separate them in their aims.
