The translators are eminent English writers, such as Prof. Shiv K. Kumar, Prof. Syed Sirajjuddin, Prof. Taqi ali Mirza, Prof. Satnarayan Singh, Prof Yourself Kamal, Madam Gupta Prof. A.B. Farooqui (U.K.) and other. The stories which have been selected for this volulme are very popular. Critics often refer them in their essays and articles an include them in agendas when they arrange literary meetings, seminars and symposiums. The main reasons which has attracted wstalwarts for translation in explained by Padam Bhushan Prof. Shiv K. Kumar in the Foreword off this book. He wrties: “Mazharuzzaman Khan is one of the few Urdu writers who have used fantasy as a literary device to synthesize diverse elements of experience into a complete vision, like Franz Kalka and George Orwell. There is hardly any passage that does not bristle with new insight, provoking the reader into questioning the reality around him.†We do hope the element pointed out by him will be feld and appreciated by others. This translation would certainly open vistas to those who are interested to know the modern trends in Urdu.
