D.C. Chambial, PhD in Indian English poetry; retired from HP education service after about 38 years of service. He has won several awards for his poetry from India and abroad: Michael Madhusudan Award (1995), India; Lachian Art Letter Award (1987), USA; Gold Medal from Poetry Day Australia: Dove in Peace Award (2000), Australia, and Life Time Achievement Award from Intercontinental Poetry Society (2009), Participated in Word Congress of Poets in Madras and 6th World Poetry Day in Gangtok (Sikkim) in 2005 besides many UGC Seminars of Indian English Poetry and Literature.
Contemporary critic and major poet. He has nine books of poems and two of Criticism on the poetry of O. P. Bhatnagar and Krishna Srinivas. His eight volumes of poetry published in one book under the title, Words – 1979-2010 (2012) by Aadi Publications, Jaipur. He has edited Poetry of Himachal Pradesh (1984) and co-edited with PCK Prem English Poetry in India: A Secular Viewpoint (2011) by Aavishkar Publishers, Distributors, Jaipur. Presently, he is translating stories from Hindi into English and from English into Pahari of Himachal Pradesh.
