This "Cataloguing Manual AACR-II" consists of two section. Section-A deals with the theory of AACR -II and Section-B covering the cataloguing practice. Section-A tell the fundamentals of the writing style of the card catalogue and its theory, rules and codes. Section-B is only a continuation of practical cataloguing aspects using AACR -II covering the specific aspects relating to subject heading, corporate bodies, uniform titles, motion pictures, serial publications, pseudonyms, and editorial works. By studying this cataloguing manual students will be in a position to grasp the essentials of practical cataloguing utilising AACR-II. A number of examples have been provided to help students to understand some of the complex problems in practical cataloguing. This manual also contain introduction to AACR-II. The main purpose of this chapter is to provide a source of reference to all one place. Therefore, a special attempt has been made to provide descriptions as simple and direct as could be possible. The purpose of this manual would be well served, if interest of the readers in the subject of the library cataloguing is aroused, encouraged and developed along the right lines. It is hoped that woth the help of this manual, students and cataloguers will be in a position to consult and understand the AACR-II with ease.
