ABOUT THE AUTHOR P. Prakash

Parmendra Prakash (Saxena) B.Sc., B. Tech. (Hons.), D.Sc. (USA), FF.I.E., C.E., IIT Grand Prix Holder. At 13 years of age, he got his first paper published in a national magazine on mathematical puzzles. Many papers were later published in journals having international repute. At 21, he got 98.25% marks (3.97 GPA) & Grand Prix at I.I.T., Kharagpur. He has designed and developed many machines for India like the first bobbin-cum-pirn winding machine of India, first overpick pedal-cum-power loom of India, etc. He is also the inventor of new process for malleabilizing of cast iron. His bio-sketch has been included in reference volumes like “Reference India” and “Men of Science & Technology in India” and his interview was televised by national channel DD-I during One Hour Live Show. Professionally, he has served as technical head as General Manager of corporate giants like Jay Engineering Works Ltd. (Shriram Group), the largest manufacturers of electric fans (USHA) in the world. As he had and has always been deeply interested in academics, he left his last assignment of the director of an American Concern, to devote his entire time in coaching students and writing books. He feels there is a great need for writing books which are purpose oriented, like this one. The author is also a contributor to Halliday & Resnick, the world authority on Physics.
