Human behavior has been the keen interest of investigation of Social Scientists. The present book is also an example of such investigation which highlights the nature, causes, consequences and coping strategies with alienation in general and presents the psycho-social dynamics of organizational alienation-in particular. Based on empirical data an attempt has been made to explain the increasing feeling of “no sense of belongingness to their communities and groups†among the students and teachers of higher learning. It is believed that the book will cater to the interest of students, teachers, researchers and general readers and would certainly serve as a reference work to the academic world of Indian Universities and other institutions of higher learning, specially in the fields of Psychology, Sociology, education and management.
