Rural Development in India: Approaches and Applications

More than 70pc of population of this country still live in rural areas. Any strategy for socio-economic development in India should focus on rural development. It is a multidimensional process emphasizing on the need of recognition and reorientation of entire factors affecting socio-economic and cultural system of the country. Moreover, managerial aspect plays a crucial role while planning, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring and evaluation of any scheme pursued for development for the poorest of the poor in the society.
