This book deals with the political history of Gujarat during the period of its climax of power. It makes a detailed study of the careers and achievements of Mahmud Shah Begarh, Muzaffar Shah II and Bahadur Shah. The Kingdom reached the zenith of its power and glory in the eventful, thought short, reign of Bahadur Shah. The struggle of the rulers of Gujarat with neighbouring states has been discussed in great detail. The death of Bahadur Shah was followed by a period of disintegration of Gujarat by Akbar in 1573. The author’s account is based on a study of original sources and supplies a desideratum in the study of the political history of Gujarat. The volume presents a well-documented and highly informative study.
