The present book is one of the first attempts to bring together History of Dalit Movement during 1857-1950, in four southern states i.e. Andhra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Keral. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Swapna H. Samel

Dr. Swapna H. Samel, [M.A., B.Ed., L.L.B., M.Phil, Ph.D.] Reader, Department of History – Birla College of Arts, Science and commerce, Kalyan (W), Maharashtra affiliated to the University of Mumbai. A dedicated research Scholar, she has presented research papers at several National and International Seminars and Conferences. To date 15 of her research papers have been published in various Journals. She has co-authored four books – ‘Ancient India’, ‘Modern India’, Elements of Museology, Archaeology, Archival and Library Sciences’ [in Marathi and English] she is convenor of the team preparing the study material of Institute of Distance Education, University of Mumbai for the paper- ‘Ancient India’.
