Dr. Gautam Bhai Patel, formerly Professor and Head, department of Sanskrit, St. Xavier College, Ahmedabad, is an eminent scholar of International repute. He is author of number of books in Sanskrit. He has been elected as President of Gujarat Sanskrit Academy for the second term Dr. Patel had richly contributed in the fields of Kalidasa, Sankaracharya and various other subjects relevant to modern research. He has presided over sections of World Sanskrit Conference and has been invited number of times in the universities abroad for delivering lectures. He was elected General Vice-President of All India Oriental Conference, Chennai. Dr. Patel is a Member of the Central Sanskrit Board.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR K.K. Chaturvedi
Dr. Krishna Kant Chaturvedi (b. 1937), Ex Director, Kalidas Academy, Ujjain, was Professor and Head in the Department of Post-graduate Studies and Research in Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit, Rani Durgavati, University, Jabalpur from where he retired in 1997. In the University, he was Dean, Faculty of Arts, Dean, Faculty of Oriental Learning, Member, Executive Council, Director, Raj Shekhar Academy etc. He was also Dean, Faculty of Arts, Indira Kala Sangit University, Khairagarh and was National Fellow of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. He was expert member in several national bodies like, Central Sanskrit Board (HRD Ministry), Panel of NCERT, Sanskrit academy, Bhopal etc. Prof. Chaturvedi was Sectional President, elected Vice President and now General President of All India Oriental Conference. Under cultural Exchange Programme of the Govt. of India, he has visited Uganda and Kenya. His prestigioius publicatioins include: Dvaita Vedanta Tattva Sameeksha (Delhi, 1966), Athato Brahma Jijnasa (Allahabad, 1971), Jayatirtha Stutih (MPORI, 1974), Cr. Ed. of Viveka Makarandam (MPORI, 1974), Geography of the Puranas (tr.), Rtambhara (qtrly, Journal) (ed.). Prof. Chaturvedi is recipient of several National Awards, like Presidents’ Certificate of Honour for Sanskrit Learning, Ramanand Award, Wakankar Literary Award, Best Art Critic Award from Madhuban, Bhopal, U.P. Govt. Award on Athato Brahma Jijnasa.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR R.K. Sharma
Dr. R.K. Sharma, (born 1932) Professor and Head of the Department of Ancient Indian History Culture and Archaeology and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Jabalpur retired in 1992. Subsequently he was Visiting Professor in the University of Sagar for one academic session and Senior Research Fellow of the Indian Council of Historical Research for three years. Dr. Sharma’s contributions to the cause of Indian Archaeology in general and Archaeology of Madhya Pradesh in particular are widely acclaimed. On account of this he was felicitated by a Volume (in two parts) entitled “Heritage of Indian-Past and Present†which was brought out in his honour and presented to him in 1994. The credit of directing the archaeological excavations of Gilaulikhera, Kakrehta and Patan goes to him. A large number of research papers have been published by him in journals of national and international repute.
