ABOUT THE AUTHOR C.M. Jariwala
Prof. C.M. Jariwala obtained L.L.M., Ph.D. degrees from the University of London. He is presently, Professor of Law, National Law Institute University, Bhopal. He is a Member of the Environmental Law Commision, Switzerland and International Council of Environmental Law, Germany. He was formerly Head and Dean. Law School, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Registrar, B.H.U. He also served in the indian Law Institute, New Delhi and Delhi University. He was also appointed as Professor of Law, University of Bombay. He delivered the ambedkar Memorial Lectures of the Baroda University in 2000. He has served in many important Committees of the Unviersity Grants Commission, New Delhi. He has been invited by the Government and Non-governmental organisation/agencies to advice them on the burning environmental issues. He has written widely on Indian Environmental Law, Consititution Law and law of Education in various national and international journals and has authored a book on freedom of Inter-State Trade in India. The Commonwealth Legal Education Association in 1993 recognized him as the 'First in India to begin a course on Envornmental Law'.
