This book entitled India’s Policy Towards the Palestine Problem is the first volume covering the period 1947-1970. The second volume entitled West Asian Politics-Role of India and Palestine covers the period after the 1970s and the events as grave as Black September. The seeds of the present conflicts and tension in West Asia were sown in the beginning of the 20th century, when the proposal to create a Jewish National Home, in Palestine received the sanction of the British government under the Balfour Declaration. The crux of the Middle Eastern turbulence, since post-world war-II, has been the Palestinian problem. The human tragedy imposed upon the people of Palestine has been unprecedented in world history due to the creation of Israel. India’s policy for this grave problem grew and crystallized on the fundamental issue arising out of the Palestinian Revolution in the course of protracted struggle against imperialism and colonialism. The above two volumes on the Palestinian problems and the Indian role thereon are the outcome of the constant endeavours and strenuous efforts of Dr. Naseema Akhtar. She has lucidly and comprehensively dealt with all the aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflicts since their origin. These volumes are highly recommended for research scholars and particularly the academicians interested in the Middle East.
