"Generation Gap" is a three tier study of inter-generational conflict between adolescents, parents and teachers. In this sociological study various explanation of generation gap have been examined. On the basis of an empiral study conducted in the historical city of Pune, Maharashtra, an attempt has been made to examine the areas of conflict between the adolescents and the adults they come across viz. parents and teachers. Even though the wood conflict has been employed what is actually seen in reality is ambivalence and role confusion arising out of the changed circumstances such as changing educational policy apart from the social position of the adolescents in the family and school. the difference in interest between the adolescents and adults in the areas like discipline, authority, choice of friends etc, have been examined.
