Women in Slums: Impact of Environmental Pollution

This study is an attempt to visualise the conditions of women in degraded environment of slums of Patna, the capital of Bihar. As women are compelled to live in such environment, they are the worst sufferer. It causes them hazards and fatigue, disorder in respiratory systems, irritation is lungs, heart diseases, chest pain, eye irritation, hepatitis, dysenteries, cholera and diarrhoea, nervous tension, cancer, high blood pressure, deafness etc. Pollution also affect seriously the foetus of a women’s womb. Congenital defeets can be caused in an the unborn child too.
