Exercises in the 22nd Edition of the Dewey Decimal Classification

In the 22nd Edition (2003), the DDC has kept pace with the dynamic world of IT and information network. This book introduces the students and practitioners to the process of assigning and constructing class numbers by the new edition of the DDC involving the use of the schedules and six tables. A chapter each been devoted to the organization of the system (in 4 volumes), subject analysis, each one of the six tables and the relative index. Introduction highlights the salient features of the DDC 22. An additional chapter is devoted to the multiple synthesis. New examples have been added from the revised schedules of 004-006 Computers, 200 Religion. 340 Laws and from the current literature. It provides a complete course in the practice of the DDC assuming no background knowledge of the DDC on part of the users. Examples have been graded and number building has been depicted through facet formulae and equations. Aim is to be fully illustrative, simple, clear and comprehensive.
